    FAQ

Designed for children to play together

Do children enter any personal information?

No. Acorn Chess uses automatically generated player names, so children don't need to provide their name, email address or other personal information to play online.

Can players send messages or share content?

No. Acorn Chess does not provide chat, messaging, image sharing or other social features between players.

Who can my child play against?

Children can only play other members of their private groups, such as friends, classmates or chess club members. Even automatic matchmaking only finds opponents from within those groups.

Does Acorn Chess still work offline?

Yes. Acorn Chess can still be used offline for lessons, mini-games and games against the built-in chess engine.
